1) Reputation. ResumesPlanet.com is a bit of a mystery to me. If you search for any resume related keyword on Google, you'll find them highly ranked. They claim to serve a high volume of clients every single week. And yet, they've only been around since 2006. No resume writer I spoke to knew anyone who worked for them, or even knew anyone related to the company. They are not Better Business Burearu accredited, and as of this writing, had an "F" BBB rating.
Finally, the BBB review of ResumesPlanet.com says this: "According to information in Bureau files, it appears that this company is no longer in business. The phone numbers the Bureau had for this company are disconnected, and directory assistance does not have a listing for this company. The Bureau's mail to this company has been returned as undeliverable. If you have an unresolved dispute with this company you may wish to seek legal advice." I'm wondering if they're even located in the U.S.?
2) Age. ResumesPlanet.com is among the middle of the pack in terms of age.
3) Products. ResumesPlanet.com offers a wide variety of job seeking tools, from Entry Level to Federal Resumes, they claim to do it types of resumes. They do NOT offer any type of LinkedIn Profile product or alternative formatting for resume information.
If you'd like to view some of their work, ResumesPlanet.com has a small library of Sample Resumes for your review.
Also, one thing that I learned in this process is that in order to have a Federal resume done, you have to have the exact job listing in hand in order for them to proceed.
4) Price. As discussed above, I feel as though ResumesPlanet.com's pricing is suspiciously low and to pay a professional writer I would expect to pay more. Also, their guarantee policy isn't clear. Perhaps, they can clear that up...
5) Industry Affiliations. ResumesPlanet.com doesn't claim ANY accreditation with the major resume writing organizations, so I wonder if they're using certified resume writers. Because of their size and ubiquity, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the incredibly low pricing also gives me pause. While they claim "certified writers" I can't find any affiliation with CDI, the PARW or the NRWA on their site. If they are actually using certified writers, those writers would demand a much higher rate.
